I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’re one of our amazing clients, a fellow hair enthusiast, or just stumbled across us – thank you for stopping by. I wanted to use this first post to introduce myself and share the story behind Era Hair Studio and how it all came to be.

Where It All Began

My journey into hairdressing started long before I ever picked up a pair of scissors. My Nana, Denise, owned a salon back in the day in Birmingham and built a successful career doing what she loved. Hearing about her passion and creativity made a real impression on me growing up, and it was her influence that inspired me to follow a similar path.

When I left school, I knew exactly what I wanted to do – I jumped straight into a hairdressing apprenticeship and never looked back. I fell in love with the craft, the people, and the feeling of helping someone leave the chair looking and feeling their best.

Fast forward a few years, and life brought me to the beautiful Lake District in 2021. I took a leap into a management role in the spa industry, which taught me a lot and gave me new perspectives – but my heart never truly left hairdressing. That passion was still there, quietly waiting for the right moment.

The Birth of Era Hair Studio

That moment came when I decided it was time to return to what I love most and create a space of my own. I wanted to build something that felt more than just a salon – somewhere warm, welcoming, and a little bit special. That’s how Era Hair Studio was born.

The name “Era” means a lot to me. I believe our lives are made up of different eras – chapters of change, growth, and reinvention – and our hair is often a reflection of that. Whether you’re embracing something new or holding onto a style that feels like ‘you,’ Era is here for all of it.

Since opening our doors in Kendal, it’s been such a joy to welcome so many amazing people into the salon. I’m beyond proud of the community we’re building – a space where people feel seen, listened to, and leave feeling a little more like themselves.
